PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize high quality image formation free from thermal developing variation by making even the temperature distribution in circumferential direction of a standby heating roller. SOLUTION: The thermal transfer printer includes a heating roller for retransferring an image on a film on a recording medium by pressing the film while heating it. The heating roller has internally a hollow heating source 402 which is arranged with a specified distance d from the rotation center of the heating roller to make even the temperature of the upper part (position A) and the lower part (position C) of the heating roller.
