PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a treatment method for waste sludge particularly preferable in the points of cost effectiveness and environmental protection by converting waste sludge into resources and recycling the same, and further making a closed system in a surface treatment stage for an aluminum formed body. SOLUTION: In the treatment method for fluorine-containing waste sludge where useful materials are recovered from fluorine-containing waste sludge as waste generated at the time when an aluminum formed body is subjected to surface treatment with a solution comprising ammonium hydrogen fluoride, the fluorine-containing waste sludge and sodium hydroxide are contacted to produce cryolites and ammonia, and they are recovered. Further, in the treatment method for an alkali waste solution generated at the time when an aluminum formed body is subjected to alkali etching treatment, sodium hydroxide in the alkali waste solution and fluorine-containing waste sludge generated at the time when the aluminum formed body is subjected to surface treatment with a solution comprising ammonium hydrogen fluoride are contacted to produce cryolites and ammonia, and they are recovered.
