(A) Benzenesulphonyl semicarbazides of general formula (I): R1 and R2 = H, halogen, alkyl, alkoxy, alkylmercapto, amino, acyl, azido or CF3; (B) Alkali-, alkaline earth - and physiologically acceptable ammonium salts of (I). The compounds (I) have a very strong blood pressure-lowering activity and excellent tolerance. They may be used as oral antidiabetics, giving an extensive differentiation in the treatment of diabetes in respect to potency and duration of activity.
