Dust removal arrangement incorporates a hood and stop ring to keep air away from the exhaust gases, the main gas stream being treated for dust by a dry electrofilter, and the secondary gas stream being dedusted by a wet washing installation. The sludge arising from wet washing in sprayed into the main gas stream before it is subject to dust removal.
