Method for operating an emission limiting assembly has the following steps: determination of whether a DPNR (diesel particle NOx reduction) device requires regeneration, generation of a first DPNR regeneration signal accordingly and control of a fuel reformer in order to generate reformate gas and, as soon as a regeneration signal is produced, supply of the reformate gas to the DPNR device. An independent claim is made for an emission limiting assembly.
