<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rolling bearing for a wheel with a longer service lifetime which has excellent sealability even in a poor environment. <P>SOLUTION: The rolling bearing is mounted to the axle of a vehicle and for freely rotatably supporting the wheel. The rolling bearing is provided with an outer ring having an outer ring raceway on the inner peripheral face, an inner ring having an inner ring raceway on the outer peripheral face, a plurality of rolling bodies provided between the outer ring raceway and the inner ring raceway so as to be capable of freely rolling, and a seal device which seals the axial opening of a space, into which the rolling bodies are provided, between the inner peripheral face of the outer ring and the outer peripheral face of the inner ring. An elastic member constituting the seal device is made of a rubber composition. The rubber composition includes hydrogenated acrylonitrile butadiene rubber when the maximum value of a loss tangent (tanδ) at an ambient atmospheric temperature of 20-70°C is ≤ 0.40. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
