<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the number of times of stopping of an image forming apparatus due to judgment of an abnormality and to suppress a waste paper sheet in the image forming apparatus that performs inspection of the abnormality by comparing image information for forming an image with the actually formed image. <P>SOLUTION: This image forming apparatus is so constituted that by comparing reference image information 12 as a reference with read image information 20 obtained by reading the actually formed image, a judging section 36 judges that the formed image is classified in a normal range, an abnormal range or an intermediate range based on a degree of coincidence between the information. When it is judged that the image is in the intermediate range, the image forming apparatus interrupts the forming of the image and forms a test image based on a command from a test image formation commanding section 42, and compares the reference image with the actually formed image with respect to the test image. When there is no abnormality, the image forming apparatus judges that the image judged as in the intermediate range is a normal image, and then the forming of the interrupted image is restarted. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
