<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magenta dye having hue and clarity suitable for ink-jet recording and giving a recorded material having excellent durability such as light fastness, gas resistance and water resistance. <P>SOLUTION: The invention provides an anthrapyridone compound expressed by formula (1) (R<SB>1</SB>is methoxy; R<SB>2</SB>is H, a 1-8C alkyl, a 1-8C alkoxy(1-3C)alkyl, a 1-4C dialkylamino(1-3C)alkyl, a hydroxy(1-4C)alkyl, a phenoxy(1-4C)alkyl, phenyl, a 1-2C alkylphenyl or a 1-2C dialkylphenyl), its salt and an aqueous magenta ink composition containing the compound. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
