<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transmission method and device, and a reception method and device for by which the increase of processing quantity is suppressed while realizing a high transmission rate and transmission quality. <P>SOLUTION: A soft decision part 34 makes a soft decision on a receive signal of a base band and generate a digital receive signal. A viterbi decoding part 58 perform viterbi decoding of the digital receive signal to derive a signal consisting of a combination of 2nd information codes and CRC bits. An area decision part 36 relates a non-convolutional encoded signal and a convolutional encoded signal to each other. A non-convolutional signal estimation part 40 estimates the non-convolutional encoded signal. A hard decision part 46 makes a hard decision on the receive signal of the base band. A comparison part 48 calculates the error rate of the hard-decided signal to the estimated non-convolutional encoded signal. A block decoding part 52 performs block decoding. A redundancy signal removal part 50 removes the CRC bits and parity bits.
