<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To access content information, which needs to be retrieved with various inquiry protocols, with a standardized inquiry protocol. <P>SOLUTION: To a home network station (HNS) 1, a plurality of AV devices which use different protocols are connected through a network. A media management part 11 in the HNS 1 has a monitor control part 51 realizing an inquiry accepting function of accepting an inquiry for content information that an AV equipment from a PC 2 and sending the inquiry result back. Monitors 52A, 52B, and 52C obtain content information that the plurality of AV devices have respectively according to the inquiry protocols of the respective AV devices, convert them to the standardized specified format and hold it, retrieve converted content information according to the contents of inquiries accepted by the inquiry accepting function, and send results meeting conditions back as inquiry answers to the inquiry accepting function. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
