<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly control equipment to be used for protecting an occupant, according to a collision prediction. <P>SOLUTION: This device is provided with a sensor 12 for detecting an operating state of a driver in relation to a vehicle and a behavior state of the vehicle, a collision prediction decision means 13A for predicting a collision of the vehicle based on vehicle information detected by the sensor 12 and predicting a degree of the predicted collision, and a plurality of safety devices for securing safety of the occupant. Each of the safety devices has first safety device groups 14B, 15B, 15D, 16, 17B, 18 and 40 operating when the collision degree predicted by the collision prediction decision means 13A is more than a first decision value, and second safety device groups 14A, 15A, 15C, 17A and 22 operating when the collision degree is more than a second decision value higher than the first decision value. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
