PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure a safe driving even in the case of providing only audio in the program related to television broadcasting in a television receiver, especially an on-vehicle television receiver and a television receiver control method. SOLUTION: In the television receiver control method, programs are successively cyclically recorded in a prescribed area of a recording medium when a user starts viewing programs, and this cyclic program recording is terminated by user's indication of program recording start, and programs are newly recorded.
