PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a holding tool which can surely hold a non-circular article to be held. SOLUTION: The holding tool 1 is used for holding a spectacle lens 2A, and has a frame 11 surrounding the outer periphery of the spectacle lens 2A and holding sections 12 provided on the frame 11. The frame 11 has an elastic property. A portion of a circle drawn by the frame 11 is notched so that an opening part is formed and the frame becomes a circular arc-like form. The three holding parts 12 are provided on the face 112 of the frame 11, opposed to the spectacle lens 2A.
