PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flowing water detector capable of detecting the displacement of the rod fixed to a valve disc by a limit switch and also enabling the detection of the displacement of the rod by a general-purpose limit switch not too high in precision even if the opening quantity of the valve disc is extremely small. SOLUTION: In the flowing water detector constituted so that the rod 12 is provided to the valve disc 10 in a state protruded outside of a valve box and the limit switch 13 is installed in the vicinity of the leading end of the rod 12 to detect the movement of the rod 12 caused by the opening and closing of the valve disc 10 with the limit switch 3, the rod 12 is provided so as to brought into contact with the plate P supported outside of the valve box and the plate P is energized in the contact direction with the rod 12 while the limit switch 13 is provided to the end on the side opposite to the support part of the plate P and the displacement quantity of the plate P due to the movement of the rod 12 is amplified by the contact part with the limit switch 13.
