Process for production of Li secondary batteries with a cathode composition containing an Li-Co oxide as interkalierbar (sic) heavy metal oxide, a polymer binder, a poly(N-vinyl)compound and an aprotic solvent, an anode composition containing an Li-carbon capable of intercalation (sic), especially graphite, a polymer binder, an aprotic solvent, and a separator as an intermediate layer between the cathode and anode. The cathode composition contains (wt.%):polymer binder selected from:polyfluoroelastomers as terpolyer, polyolefin, polybutadiene (isoprene)styrene rubbers, poly(meth)acrylates with 4-20C alcohol residue, or as a mixture (sic)(5-15), poly(N-vinyl)compounds, e.g. polyvinylpyrrolidone-, imidazole-, or polyvinylpyridine and their copolymerisate or a mixture of these (2-15), aprotic solvent, especially alkyl carbonate (10-60), Li-interkalierbar heavy metal oxide, comprising relative to the LiCo-oxide introduced, LiMn oxide, LiNi oxide, titanate, molybdate, chromate and/or tungstate, or a mixture of these (1-1005). This mixture is treated at 10-3000 rpm and at room temperature to 200degreesC over 120-180 minutes and finally at 100degreesC for 30 minutes, and is pressed at 120degreesC and 100 bar pressure without primer onto a Cu film in a layer of thickness 80-90 micron. The anode composition contains (wt.%):polymer binder selected from:polyfluoroelastomers as terpolymer, polyolefin, polybutadiene(isoprene)styrene rubbers, poly(meth)acrylates with a 4-20C alcohol residue or a mixture of these (5-15), poly(N-vinyl)compounds, e.g. polyvinylpyrrolidone, polyvinylimidazole, or polyvinylpyridine and their copolymerisate or a mixture of these (2-15), Li-carbon capable of interkalieration, especially synthetic graphite spheres (55-85), which mixture is treated at 10-1000 rpm and at room temperature to 200degreesC (sic), over 60-180 minutes, and the treated composition is pressed at a temperature of 120degreesC and 100 bar pressure to an Al film without pri mer in a layer of thickness 139-150 micron. A separator is prepared as an intermediate layer from a netting with an external electrolyte such as Celgard, which is wetted with the amount of electrolye required for the whole battery, the conductive salt of which is dissolved in alkyl carbonate, or consists of a polymer swollen with electrolyte, the conductive salt of which is dissolved in alkyl carbonate. The anode composition, the intermediate layer, and the cathode composition are built up under inert conditions and finally the battery system is polarized and closed with a press.
