The invention relates to a method for evaluating the processing time of a voice signal contained in data packets received in a receiving terminal equipped with a telephony module during a voice conversation established over a packet-switched network with an emitting terminal of these data packets. The inventive method comprises the following steps: obtaining (E32), from the received data packets, an audio packet stream containing the voice signal; decoding (E43), according to the predetermined decoding time, the obtained audio packet stream and creating a first reconstituted voice signal (F1); duplicating (E36) at least a portion of the voice signal reconstituted by the telephony module, this portion of the reconstituted voice signal comprising a second voice signal (F2); determining (E39) the time lag existing between the first (F1) and second (F2) voice signals; calculating (E40) the time D3 of the processing of the voice signal in the receiving terminal from at least the time lag measured between the first (F1) and the second (F2) voice signals and the predetermined decoding time.
