Provided herein are methods for the biosequestration and organic assimilatio n of a gas that contributes to the greenhouse effect. In these methods, a gas that contributes to the greenhouse effect is introduced into a peat bog wher e it is thereafter sequestered and organically assimilated. A capture method m ay be employed in conjunction with the present invention to enable transport of the gas from an industrial site to a processing facility located at or near a peat bog. Once transported to a relevant processing facility, the captured g as may be regenerated and thereafter introduced into the peat bog for its biosequestration and organic assimilation. In the context of the present invention, the gas may be a greenhouse gas (GHG), sulfur oxide (SOx) gas, and/or volatile organic compound (VOC). |
