Power hand tool (15) has a handle (1) that is coupled to a housing (2) via a vibration isolating arrangement (3) that leaves it free to move. The isolating arrangement comprises passive dampers (4, 5) and at least an active damping element (6) with a control unit for damping vibrations based on a sensor signal received from an acceleration sensor (8) that detects relative acceleration of the handle relative to the housing. The longitudinal axes of the damping element and the tool (9) are arranged coaxially with the measurement axis of the acceleration sensor.
