ELECTRONIC MEDICAL RECORD SYSTEM IN WIDE AREA NETWORK ENVIRONMENT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic medical record system that enables a terminal device connected via a wide area network such as the Internet to interactively image-process image data associated with an electronic medical record and observe the image-processed image.

SOLUTION: A high speed data processing device is installed near the network of a PACS server for saving medical image data. An electronic medical record creation device attaches information and image processing parameters about image data used at an image diagnosis to an electronic medical record. The electronic medical record browsing terminal device uses the information attached to the electronic medical record to send the information for image data acquisition and the image processing parameters to the data processing device near the PACS server saving the image data. The data processing device acquires and image-processes the image data according to the information and parameters, and sends the created image to the terminal device. Related information is likewise acquired and displayed. The terminal device can thus interactively process and display the image and information associated with the electronic medical record.
