<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable terminal acting like a remote controller in the smart entry system to enhance the system security and to provide a vehicle remote control system employing the portable terminal with enhanced user's convenience. <P>SOLUTION: In the portable terminal for carrying out ID collation with a vehicle by using a private encryption key and the vehicle remote control system employing the portable terminal, the portable terminal is provided with: an interface means to which a recording medium stored with a unique first code is removably connected; a key generating means for generating an encryption key on the basis of the first encryption code and a unique second encryption code stored in advance into the portable terminal; and a response means for encrypting a code received from the vehicle for ID collation by using the encryption key and sending back the encrypted code to the vehicle. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
