<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a source image storage method by which a source image without requiring a negative film or a CD including the source image. <P>SOLUTION: In one embodiment, the method includes the steps of receiving a first image, printing a likeness of the first image on a medium, and placing an encoded representation of the first image on the medium based on the first image. In another embodiment, the method includes the steps of receiving a first medium including the encoded representation of an image, and replicating a likeness of the image on a second medium based on the encoded representation of the image.
