<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an illumination device in which coloring can be added to a light control member only at the time of lamp lighting without impairing substantially white illumination. <P>SOLUTION: Facing a lamp 1 such as a fluorescent lamp or an incandescent lamp which emits white light, a light control member 2 which is composed of a resin material or the like, and which is colorless, transparent and of a curved shape is installed. In one part of the light control member 2, coloring (for example, red, blue, green or the like) 3 is applied to at least either one face inside or outside by a method such as painting or silk screen printing. In the coloring applied part 3, opaque white or nearly opaque white 4 (translucent rate of about 20% or less) is applied to the external face of the light control member 2.
