<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a head for a golf putter which provides a smooth stroke and an excellent feeling. <P>SOLUTION: This head for the golf putter is set to such weight balance that a second moment of inertia becomes maximum among three moments of inertia defined by (1)-(3) in a state in which the head for the golf putter is mounted on a horizontal plane at prescribed lie angle and loft angle. (1) A first moment: the moment of inertia of the head around a first axis which passes through the centroid of the head and is parallel to a face surface and the horizontal plane. (2) A second moment: the moment of inertia of the head around a second axis which is a vertical axis passing through the centroid of the head.
