PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a select assisting device of an automatic transmission, securing the reliability by mechanical connection of a select lever and a range position switching device, enlarging the degree of freedom in layout by reducing the size of the select lever, and obtaining the select lever operating force characteristic according to a request. SOLUTION: The select assisting device of the automatic transmission 19 is provided with a learning block 50 for storing a motor driving current in the assist control with a correspondence to the operating position of the select lever 2, and updating data to be used as table data preset in an FF compensation table block 43 in the next assist control.
