摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projection image display apparatus realizing improvement in brightness. SOLUTION: The brightness of the projection image display apparatus is improved by variably controlling the time ratios when light in a plurality of wavelength regions including white light is separated by using an optical characteristics switching element which separates one kind of wavelength region in light in a plurality of wavelength ranges including white light from the light from a light source unit in different periods on the time base.
