A weft knitting machine, wherein movable yarn guides are formed to be freely carried by a carriage together with a yarn carrier, and carried together with the yarn carrier. When a course disabling the carrying of the movable yarn guides occurs, the movable yarn guides are carried to a position where the movable guides can be carried in the previous courses.
