<p>The rotary seal between a fixed component, e.g. a turbocharger casing (4), and a moving component, e.g. a turbine wheel (2), comprises a piston ring (5). This is made up of a soft zone (51) with an abradable surface (21) which contacts the wheel and an inner, heat resistant zone (52). Independent claims are included for (a) the piston ring; and (b) a turbocharger fitted with the sealing ring.</p> |
