A method, and system for manufacturing a trim panel assembly (10) figure 1a (not shown) using a first tool (20)which defines a cavity 30 and which has a mold element (34) movable, inside a core cavity 32, between a first position and a second position. In the first position, element 34 obstructs cavity 30, in which a first material 40 is inserted to form a first trim component having a receptacle resulting from obstruction of cavity 30 by element 34. No recess (14,38) is formed when the tool 20 is in the second position. A bolster (16), manufactured using a second tool, is secured within the recess (14). Alternatively a second material (44) figure 5 (not shown) can be injected into the recess (14,38) once the movable mold element (34) is moved to the second position. |
