A suspended ceiling lighting system SCS comprises a beam 10 which is used to provide an integral lighting system 20. The beam 10 serves as a housing for the lighting system 20 as well as an integral part of the suspended framework for supporting ceiling tiles CT. The lighting system 20 further comprises reflectors 40 for directing light away from the light source. In another embodiment the beam 10 comprises tracks (52, figure 7) for receiving a plurality of individual lighting assemblies (50, figure 7), and in a further embodiment the beams 10 are used for support luminous light panels (CT, figure 6a). |
