The present invention relates to a data protection method from theft by authorized user wherein the method is ensured in such a manner that first a filter (F) containing a database (DB) is inserted into the existing information system. Said database (DB) includes information about privileged applications (PA). In each privileged application (PA1 through PAn) there is defined, in which protected data regions (CHDO1 through CHDOn), the given privileged application (PA1 through PAn) can store the data. At each start of some of the privileged applications (PA1 through PAn), the filter (F) investigates in the database (DB), which protected data regions (CHDO1 - CHDOn) are allocated to that privileged application (PA1 through PAn). According to the results of such an investigation the filter (F) allows the given privileged application (PA1 through PAn) to store data in the protected data regions (CHDO1 - CHDOn) allocated to the given privileged application (PA1 through PAn). In such a manner the filter (F) prevents each privileged application (PA1 through PAn) to store the data to a different place than in the protected data regions (CHDO1 through CHDOn) allocated thereto.
