1,245,300. Electric starters for internalcombustion engines. ROBERT BOSCH G. m. b. H. Dec.6, 1968 [Dec.9, 1967], No.57945/68. Heading F1K. An electric starter has a starting pinion which is arranged coaxially of the armature shaft of the starter and is connected by way of an over-running clutch to a hollow shaft which is displaceably mounted on the armature shaft and acted upon by a pivoted lever which displaces the pinion towards the meshing position when the starter is switched on. The hollow shaft is also acted upon by a return spring which after the starter has been switched off urges the hollow shaft against a stop fixed in the axial direction in the starter housing, the fixed stop being provided by a ring disc which is inserted into the starter housing embracing the hollow shaft and co-operating with an annular shoulder formed at the transition of the hollow shaft to the annular part of the over-running clutch rigidly connected to the hollow shaft. The hollow shaft carries a driving ring 37 through which the pivoted lever acts upon the hollow shaft. The disc 40 may be of moulded laminated plastics material or laminated fabric. |
