The invention relates to ferrous metallurgy, in particular - to a method for mixing steel in the ladle and can be used for the out of furnace treatment of melt steel in the ladle. A method comprises blowing the steel from below by gas or gas and powder mixture through provided at least two blowing mechanisms, which are disposed on diametrically opposite sides of the ladle. The blowing is carried out alternatively, at first through one of mechanisms, which is disposed on one side of the ladle, then through another one, which is on other side of the ladle, at that in blowing mechanism, through which at this moment the blowing is not carried out, the pressure is maintained, which excludes flowing therein metal. The period of change in operation is increased with increase of steel weight in the ladle, and in change-over gas of gas and powder mixture supply from on blowing mechanism into another, gas volume, being supplied is maintained unchanged. The invention provides expansion of active zone of coverage with gas or gas and powder mixture of steel melt volume, reducing time of achievement of homogenization without increase of amount of gas being supplied.
