<p>(Problem) To provide a method and a kit which are useful in judging and/or diagnosing the occurrence of cancer, the risk of cancer metastasis, the risk of cancer infiltration and the degree of cancer progress. (Means for Resolution) Use is made of a method of judging the occurrence of cancer, the risk of cancer metastasis, the risk of cancer infiltration and the degree of cancer progress which involves: (1) the step of measuring the expression dose of at least one HOX gene in a tissue collected from a subject; and (2) the step of comparing the expression dose of the HOX gene as described above with the corresponding threshold HOX gene expression dose. In the case where the HOX gene expression dose as described above is larger or smaller than the threshold HOX gene expression dose, it is judged that cancer occurs, there is a risk of cancer metastasis, there is a risk of cancer infiltration, or cancer is in progress. Use is also made of a kit for judging the occurrence of cancer, the risk of cancer metastasis, the risk of cancer infiltration and the degree of cancer progress having a means of measuring the expression dose of an HOX gene.</p> |
