1,221,084. Curing epoxy resins. ALLMANNA SVENSKA ELEKTRISKA A.B. 26 June, 1968 [29 June, 1967], No. 30441/68. Heading C3B. [Also in Division H1] Epoxy resins are cured with one or more polycarboxylic acid anhydrides using as curing accelerator a reaction product of aluminium isopropylate and an alkylaminoalkylphenol, e.g. a dimethylaminomethyl phenol especially 2,4,6- tris-(dimethylaminomethyl) phenol. Using the composition as an impregnant, e.g. for mica tape used in insulation, the object may be impregnated in two stages. The accelerator is first incorporated into the object prior to impregnation with the mixture of epoxy resin and polycarboxylic acid anhydride. |
