Reinforcing cord fabric for use in tyres

Fabric has warp cords and weft threads, the latter consisting of a mixture of short synthetic polymer fibres and cotton fibres, and having in the raw state a resistance to breakage approximately equal to that of a cotton thread of the same weight, and an elongation at break considerably greater than that of the cotton thread. The weft threads pref. consist of a simple mixture of 20-80% short polyester fibres and 20-80% wt cotton fibres. The weft threads pref. a resistance to breakage of 2.7-6.8 kg and an elongation, at break of 10-30%.
