PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a valve timing control device capable of eliminating noise since a lock member and a receiving hole are not rotated relative to each other in locking and capable of preventing the lock member from being arrested by the receiving hole in unlocking. SOLUTION: This valve timing control device is formed in such a manner that when the relative rotation of an inner rotor 20 and an outer rotor 30 is restricted, a lock plate 80 comes into contact with the advance angle side and retard angle side of the inner peripheral surface 22c of the receiving hole 22 between the opening part 22a and the bottom part 22d of the receiving hole 22.
