PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an engine warming-up method and an engine warming-up device for the method for suppressing the consumption of an additional heating energy. SOLUTION: This engine warming-up device comprises an engine jacket 3 to flow cooling water for cooling an engine 1 therein, a heat exchanger 10 connected to a flow passage 2 for the cooling water in the engine jacket 3, and an accumulator 11 capable of pre-storing excess steam. When the engine 1 is started, the excess steam is force-fed by its own pressure from the accumulator 11 to the heat exchanger 10 so that the cooling water can be heated by heat exchange. Thus, a warm-up cost can be reduced by suppressing the consumption of the additional heating energy such as electric power by the cooling water. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
