The three-dimensional support structure for a structural design (10) has a pressure system consisting of at least three pressure elements, especially rods, which perspectively intersect but no do not touch, and at least one pretensioned technical membrane (16) connected by the edge to the ends of the pressure elements by cable-like tensioning elements (18). The pretensioned structure is statically closed by the force equilibrium of the compressive and tensile forces. The pressure or tensioning elements may be completely or partially length adjustable.
