The stand (1) is assembled of a horizontally positioned disk (11) with a cylindrical element (3) vertically joined to its center. Several support elements (7) fitted with swivel mounted (16) holding elements (5) at their upper ends are attached to the outer surface of the cylinder (3). A slightly elastic strip (9) with an outwards bent lower end is joined to the inner surface of each of the holding (5) elements, keeping the tree trunk (2) in a centered position while the holding elements (5) are moved towards the center by a steel rope (6) controlled by a swivel mounted lever (17).
