<p>A method of fabricating a hydrogen diffusion membrane that is supported on a porous and gas permeable support is disclosed. The method comprises steps wherein a support is coated with a coating composition and is subsequently fired at a temperature above 300° C. The coating composition comprises one or more metal powders a carrier liquid, and optionally an inorganic or organic binder.</p>
