<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet recording cast gloss paper, which is excellent in ink jet recording properties as well as in glossiness, and to provide a method for manufacturing an ink jet recording cast gloss paper and a cast coating apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: This ink jet recording cast gloss paper comprises a gas permeable support, at least one lower ink receiving layer coated onto at least one side of the gas permeable support, and an uppermost ink receiving layer coated onto the lower ink receiving layer. The uppermost ink receiving layer comprises a pigment and a temperature-sensitive polymer compound which is hydrophilic in a temperature range below a temperature-sensitive point and is hydrophobic in a temperature range above the temperature-sensitive point. After coating, during the time period in which the coating is in a wet state, the coating is pressed against a heated mirror-finished metal surface and dried to impart gloss. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
