<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a contrast authentication server and a content reproduction authentication method which have high security regarding terminal identification information for specifying a mobile communication terminal. <P>SOLUTION: When contents stored in content reproducing equipment 10 are reproduced, a license authentication server 50 authenticates a license through the mobile communication terminal 20 and contract authentication server 40. When a license authentication request signal is sent from the contract authentication server 40 to the license authentication server 50, not the terminal identification information specifying the mobile communication terminal 20, but a user ID determined between a communication company which manages and operates the contract authentication server 40 and a content managing company which manages and operates the license authentication server 50 is sent and received through a communication path between the contract authentication server 40 and license authentication server 50.
