<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and computer system capable of reducing the occurrence of the cold reset of the computer system. <P>SOLUTION: This computer system 500 has a CPU502 used for controlling the computer system 500, a restoring button 530 used for returning the CPU502 from a pause mode to an operable condition and a battery 508 providing electricity to the computer system 500. The CPU502 supports battery abnormality processing by software. The method contains at least one following procedures. (1) When the CP0502 is in a pause mode and power supply for the computer system 500 is in an uncertain condition, the CP0502 remains in the pause mode even if a restoring event occurs.
