PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sealant which ensures the satisfactory ability to hold the fiber of a sliding part being in contact with the moving body, thereby preventing fiber from coming off, also ensures sufficient sealability, and prevents a leak of the fine granular material such as fine toner, without degrading the function of a moving body being in contact with a fine granular material in a housing. SOLUTION: The sealant 1 seals a specific gap between a moving body which is in contact with a fine granular material and a housing for the moving body by being stuck to the moving body or the face of the housing, and thus prevents a leak of the fine granular material without interfering the movement of the moving body. The sealant is composed of pile threads and plain weave texture supporting the pile threads. The pile threads are synthetic resin fiber which has a low friction coefficient with a single yarn fineness of 6 deniers or more and is resistant to wear and heat. It forms pile fabric 2 in which the height of feather 3 is not lower than 1.5 mm and the density of the feather 3 when erected is not less than 40,000/In<SP>2</SP>. The back of the pile fabric 2 has a coating layer 5 for preventing the pile threads from coming off. In addition, the pile threads are inclined in a fixed direction by the application of heat.
