PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image management device capable of utilizing efficiently a storage medium without performing such a bothersome human work as to search and eliminate images with a low degree of necessity out of a plurality of image data stored in the storage medium. SOLUTION: Image data control unit 3 of a digital camera 100 judges a degree of the necessity of the image data based on features (at least any one of brightness, a focusing degree, and a blurring degree caused by hand movement) of the image data stored in the storage medium 6, and then eliminates image data that have been judged as having the low degree of the necessity from the storage medium 6.
