PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a packaging box by which the taking out of a package from the packaging box is easy, and of which the disposal is easy by reducing the volume when the packaging box after use is disposed, and the manufacturing method for the packaging box. SOLUTION: This packaging box for a rolled photo-sensitive material has a body of the box body and a lid body which covers, is superposed with the body and is integrated with the side wall of the body. The body is manufactured by bending one sheet of a developed base board along folding lines and being superposed, and houses the rolled photo-sensitive material which is shaded-packaged. On both shorter edge sides of the side plate which constitutes the side wall of the body, a flap is provided. The flap has a shape which is inserted in a gap of the body shorter edge side wall without substantially coming into contact with the upper part on the internal side of the body shorter edge side wall, and has an area of 50 to 78.5% based on the area of the external wall of the body shorter edge side wall.
