<p>A strongly alkaline, storage-stable, viscous liquid or pasty cleaner comprises a) 4-20 (pref. 6-15) % of a caustic alkali, esp. KOH; b) 1-15 (pref. 2-10) % of an alkali-sol. thickener which is an acrylic and/or methacrylic polymer pref. contg. up to 75 moles. % of methylethyl- or propyl acrylate or methacrylate, c) 2-18 (pref. 7-13) % of a 2-4C glycol, e.g. ethylene glycol or 1.2-1:3-propylene glycolf d) 0.2-3 (pref. 0.5-2) % of a non-ionic surfactant comprising the addition products of alkylene oxides with higher 8-20C fatty alcohols and/or with alkyl phenols contg. 8-15C atoms in the alkyl gp. and, e) 0.5-4 (pref. 1-3) % of a toluene sulphonate and/or xylene sulphonate. Water is present in amt. of 65-85%, together with perfumes, dyes, etc. The viscosity of the product is 800-10000. The cleaner cleans a rotisserie soiled with vegetable fat and paprika, after 40 min. contact at 70 degrees C and the grease may be washed off without need for scrubbing.</p> |
