<p>Accelerators used in valcansation of elastomers are copper phosphoro dithioates of the formula: (RO) (R'O) (S) P-S -Cu, (in which R,R' are 1-18C pref. butyl or amyl) pref. with the addition of a thiazole, dithio carbamate, thiuram sulphide, as 15 to 75% of the accelerator, 2-mercaptobenzo-thiazole as 0.50 to 3% by wt. of elastomer. The elastomers are ethylene-propylene copolymers modified with 0.5 to 10% of diene. Accelerators are sued in tyres, cable coverings, flexible tubes, belts etc. The vulcanisation is fast giving products of good quality and non-efflorescent.</p> |
