<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light weight hydrogen occlusion material large in a hydrogen occlusion capacity per unit mass and a method for producing such hydrogen occlusion material high in purity and in yield. <P>SOLUTION: The hydrogen occlusion material is expressed by the composition formula: Li<SB>x</SB>BCH<SB>y</SB>(wherein 0.24≤x≤1; 0<y≤3). The production method includes a raw material preparing process preparing a raw material by mixing LiH, B and C so that Li:B:C is a specified atomic ratio, and a burning process synthesizing Li<SB>x</SB>BCH<SB>y</SB>(wherein 0.24≤x≤1; 0<y≤3) by burning the prepared raw material at a temperature of 700°C or higher and 1,000°C or lower. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
