<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power steering arrangement using a brushless motor with which, when a failure of a device such as a current sensor is detected, a driver is informed of abnormality of a system but operation of the power steering system is continued. <P>SOLUTION: A power steering arrangement 10 comprises a brushless motor 19 which adds an auxiliary torque to a steering system, a steering torque detecting means 20, a motor driving means 105 for energizing the motor 19 based on the steering torque signal from the steering torque detecting means 20, current sensors 103 and 104 for detecting the current flowing the motor 19, and a current sensor abnormality detecting means 101 which detects abnormality of the current sensors 103 and 104. If the current sensor abnormality detecting means 101 detects abnormality of the current sensors 103 and 104, energizing is performed by a second energizing method which is different from a normal energization. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
